There are a growing number of reports throughout the web of Google Advertisements accounts managers threatening to call clients directly, despite not being enabled to.
According to the reports, agencies who do not react to e-mails from Google Advertisements account supervisors are being consulted with threats from Google associates to call customers directly.
Sometimes, the Google Ads account supervisors call clients and tell them to drop their agencies.
There are 2 things to explain here:
- Agencies are not needed to talk with Google reps
- At no point needs to a Google Ads account supervisor call an agency’s client
A Google Advertisements associate informing customers to fire their company crosses the line.
Nevertheless, these reports are ending up being more frequent.
Matt Janaway, CEO of Marketing Labs, shared his experience on LinkedIn today:

support our advertisers and firm partners.” Screenshot from: linkedin.com/posts/mattjanaway, November 2022. Janaway isn’t alone in his experience. Throughout October, reports flowed on Reddit of Google associates engaging in similar practices. One Reddit user posted a screenshot of an e-mail received by a Google Ads Account
Strategist, which reads: “I am composing to you one last time as a courtesy, because my truthful objective is to supply you
value and innovative techniques with google ads and deal with you carefully, to help you conserve time and make your customers more successful with google ads, therefore I am calling you for the last time to inform you that if I do not reach you, I will presume that you are not getting my e-mails and will get in touch with the clients that I have been designated straight.”Another Reddit user has almost the same story, stating they
‘ve been “harassed”with daily e-mails from a Google Advertisements representative to get on a call and carry out project changes. Once again, companies aren’t bound to speak with Google representatives or implement modifications customers aren’t requesting. Must you get an email like the one above, the very best thing to do is submit a problem via
Google’s official kind. Beware of these aggressive sales strategies. As long as you’re not breaking any policies, Google has no say over
how you run your customers’campaigns. Featured Image: FGC/Best SMM Panel
